Why aren't Hammers United happy?
Those on the outside, looking in, can probably be forgiven for wondering “why aren’t West Ham fans happy?”

It is up to us, those fans, to bring some balance to the discussion and to educate individuals not quite so informed as those of us on the inside looking out.

There is a discussion to be had, but the question itself needs to be posed with an altered sense of understanding of the situation. Asking why fans are not happy, or why they are moaning, implies fans are not happy or that fans are indeed, moaning.

Of course, supporters will offer opinions. However, broadly speaking, when a football team is on form, supporters will be happy about that form. When a football suffers a bad run of results, supporters feel despondent.

West Ham are bang in form.

And West Ham fans, broadly speaking, are very happy with what is happening on the pitch. A recent survey of the fanbase paid tribute to the level of support David Moyes and his team are enjoying and the level of satisfaction across the fanbase with what is happening during those 90 mins at the moment. Very few West Ham fans, when they first laid eyes on the fixture list this season, could have dared predict we would be so happy come January 2021.

So, if West Ham fans are happy, why the continued campaign for a change in ownership?

Perhaps this is a better way to phrase the question. Fans are not unhappy or moaning, but you don’t have to dig deep into social media, or cast your eye far over forums, or glance long at survey results, to see that a change in ownership sits solidly at the top of the wish-list of many a West Ham fan.

The ‘GSBOUT’ movement or campaign has often been referred to, again typically from those on the outside who have not taken the time to really look, as negative. On the contrary, West Ham supporters are determined that this is the start of a movement for the better. A positive step towards regaining an identity.

The campaign has never, and will never, be connected to the performance of the team on the pitch. The campaign is not about moaning and feeling sad in the moment. The actions of those campaigning do not prevent them from offering the team their full backing and from working tirelessly to ‘improve things for all West Ham supporters’ in every way possible.

West Ham were once described as a Club without a culture. West Ham fans cannot, and will not, let that become the reality.

Supporters revel in success on the pitch, supporters wallow in bad results. That is the up and down existence of a football fan. But those same supporters long for some consistency. They ask for owners who will consider the infrastructure of the club, the importance of the crest and the heritage, the history and traditions of their club, the routines of a matchday, the loyalty fans show, the communication they are keen to engage in and, most of all, the place they really feel they can call home.

So, the answer is the campaign for new ownership continues in earnest because of what that would mean for the stability and culture of our Football Club. It continues with good reason and strong support. And yes, West Ham fans are happy at the moment.

Re: Why arent West ham fans happy?
People who are only concerned with results on the pitch are doing a huge disservice to the cub and fellow supporters. There is no future without a past and under GSB our past is being set aside unless it benefits them financially, hence the regular touting of Bobby Moore merchandise or celebrating 125th anniversary. Add in to the mix an ownership who were well past their pay grade in terms of competency from the day they arrived and we end up with what we have now, a club that is built on sand. If people don't want to take the time to understand that then their opinions on us as a fanbase are an ignorant irrelevance. #GSBOUT

We are run by people who if Charles Dickens was about would have them in one of his books as horrible fuckers you want to see fail or get their comeuppance......I think even from the outside other clubs fans will think this of them.

I’m really happy with how well Moyes has got us playing.

MOYES IN!

The Jurassic Leaches are only going to hold him, and therefore us, back.

GSB OUT!

Support the team, not the regime.

Come on you Irons!

Re: Why arent West ham fans happy?
We are benefitting from not having fans in the stadium, players aren't getting abused when they make a mistake. Fortunately we've enough points that if fans do return before the end of the season and our form dips we will still stay in the Prem.

Re: Why arent West ham fans happy?
Haha. Our current run of form began when Moyes wasn’t even on the sidelines. Players must be shy! Like flicking a switch to what went on at the start of the season.

Re: Why arent West ham fans happy?
Saying that the absence of fans is the reason we’re playing well does a great disservice to Moyes and his coaching staff, because they are the reason we’re doing well, along with the new signings.

The improvements in our game were clearly visible before the lockdown, at Anfield for example. We were beating them after going a goal down, and only two uncharacteristic mistakes from Fabianski, (who was one of our most consistent players at the time), denied us a famous victory, because we were keeping out everything they threw at us, and still threatening to score a third.

You won’t get any moaning from fans when our team represent us as they have been doing this last year.

I'm happy with what's going on ON the pitch, and what Moyes, his coaching staff, and the players have managed to produce after starting the season in apparent disarray with the fallout from Diangana leaving in the way he did and looking to all like relegation fodder.

I'm not happy with him not being backed financially (so it seems) to build a more complete and balanced squad- although what he has been allowed to spend, he's spent magnificently. We've been in the very surprising position this season, for us, that we've mostly been able to field a consistent 11 with a few exceptions, but we are as ever an injury or two away from being very thin at key positions. The owners as ever need to do much more.

Re: Why arent West ham fans happy?
I do think we as a support are quick to jump on our teams back sometimes, just look at the last match thread on here before we scored for the type of thing that is being suggested. I’ve always felt a big section of our support has a ST to vent out their life frustrations and look for certain individuals to really hate on.....

....this could lead to Moyes just being allowed to do his job without having to listen to some of the unnecessary abuse that get dished out or pick up a players confidence to do the actual job in hand.

Let’s be completely honest with ourselves...... we are fucking Champions League in dishing out strong abuse when we feel necessary.

Re: Why arent West ham fans happy?
We have had some ‘characters’ running the club in the past, but they came and went leaving things relatively intact albeit non financially on occasions.

The change brought about by GSB was not in the best interests of the club. It’s always been about getting hold of the stadium.

Didn’t matter what happened to the customers, sorry the fans, the history for them didn’t matter. The plan all along was to rebrand with the name London, get those day trippers to the capital in and fill those seats, sell more popcorn.

UP did have planning permission to develop the East stand and increase capacity by 7k to 42k, enough for us.
We have been left with a stadium that looks and feels temporary and not fit for purpose, which we don’t even own.
What a good move that was. Maybe long term for them, but not for us.

And all that’s left of West Ham United is the fans and some ex players. Connections with what was our home at Upton Park have been consigned to the bin. The badge quickly rebranded, how clever Brady.

For me yes the future is unknown, but it’s the sheer feeling of they are not worthy or just should not be allowed to run our club after what they have done.

In truth now it’s all too late, we have to make the best as the club what it was has gone and just hope some twist of fate smiles on us.
While feeling the club is cursed on a number of occasions in the past, the Tevez saga, just pales into insignificance to what happened with our moving.

We never should have.

But again while a number of us are still alive, I hope that something happens we can be truly proud of.
Whatever that is but being West Ham supporters we don’t ask for too much, just a feeling sometimes things are going our way in whatever form that is.
For us, the ground move for many many reason was shit, and was not done in the interests of the club, which is the fans.

What you see in results at the moment, do other clubs need their fans more? Ours don’t seem to be missing theirs!
Makes you wonder if we are the fucking curse!

I’m happy with the results. I’m happy with the ethos and atmosphere that Moyes has created around the playing staff. I’m happy that there is a manager who stands up to primadonnas and values hard work and application over price tag.

I am unhappy with owners that are rinsing the club for every penny they can get.

I am unhappy with a stadium move that was done on the cheap with little to no concern for fan experience or our history.

I also couldn’t give a fuck what any non West Ham fan things about any of that. They’re mostly cunts anyway.

Re: Why arent West ham fans happy?
No surprise our new signings over the past year have settled so well without the fans to give them a hard time

Our supporters are exactly like all others these days, a sense of entitlement and totally unrealistic expectations, but then that is just a reflection of society at large.

Re: Why arent West ham fans happy?
Most fans don't realise that GSB have run the club into massive debts again. In the year ended May 2019 the accumulated debts were £78m. That's season 2018/19 don't forget.

In 2019/20 season or year ended May 2020, the accounts are due to be published and will most likely show more losses of £30m bringing debts up to over £100m again. It's bound to have been the case with high wages and staged payments on players. Pretty much what it was when GSB took over...

The current financial year for season 2020/21 will probably add to those losses because of Covid and no fans in the stadium. People ask why we sold Diangana and Haller well, when the accounts are published you'll see that stories of big signings and increased offers are probably just bullshit deflection of running WH into the ground by GSB...

The team is doing well in spite of GSB's incompetence but they are trying to turn things around which is why we only have 1 striker...
